BEST WAY TO SPEND AN HOUR OR TWO!
First time I’ve tried an escape room but I would say this is the best way to spend an hour or two. Our team contained 6 family members and we opted for The Sherlock Holmes Mystery which is new. Once locked in the room you have to work as a team to work out the clues and progress through. The room is well laid out with plenty of things for everyone to have a go at. If you get stuck there is the option of getting another clue. I won’t ruin anything for anyone here but needless to say even though I will, we managed to escape from the room being the only ones so far. There are other rooms for you to have a go at also and I can say we will be back to have a go at them. The staff are helpful and the exercise is well explained prior to you entering the room. We will definitely be back to have a go at another room

Went last night as a group of 5 friends (including 2 people that have never done an escape room before and 2 people that had only done 1 before). We played the Haunted House room which was well designed and the puzzles were thought out well. The newbies are now hooked and already planning when we can go back! This is the second time we've been here, previously completing the SAWtopsy room (with a slightly different group). Enjoyed both rooms (personally preferred the Haunted House but they're both good) and we'll definitely be going back. I'm also planning on taking my 7 and 9 year old kids around Christmas to do the limited time Santa room. On both visits the staff have been friendly, funny and helpful and I couldn't fault them.

This is the 2nd visit recently, the haunted house first time and the meth lab the second. Both rooms are very different but very enjoyable, also challenging. We needed a few clues which you could request after the first 15 minutes. The staff are great and made it even better!

GREAT ESCAPE ROOM FOR CHRISTMAS!
4 adults, 1 teenager and an 8 year old went to Santa's Cabin. Really enjoyed it. Lots of clues and lots of sweets to find! Definitely needed the adults/teenager (and the odd hint) to solve the puzzles but plenty for the 8 year old to be involved in too.

MERLIN'S MAGIC ACADEMY
Had a great time here last weekend 19th Jan for our son's 10th birthday. Only the four of us (me , wife, and two sons afed 6 and 10). First Escape Room as a family. Picked this room as it appeared to be one of the only ‘family’ escape rooms I could find that allowed under 12s. Setting was great with some good props and LOADS of locks to crack - both key and combo. And a few rooms to explore. Some neat puzzles and not too difficult overall (although I admit we got stumped at the very first verbal clue and had to ask for help after wasting 10 minutes over thinking it - but then got into it!). Our female host was very friendly and set the scene well and was on hand whenever we needed guidance the other two or three times throughout the game. Technically I think we overran the hour glass timer by about 5 mins, but the kids were that into it and were so near the end, I think our host let us see it through to the end - very grateful! Will go back when the next family room is ready!

We had a great time here last week. We were a party of four adults and opted to try the Sherlock escape room at MoviEscape. The room was well designed and decorated with authentic props. The plot was cleverly designed well thought out with a range of locks, riddles and puzzles to solve. This room was a real challenge, even though some of us had done escape rooms previously. The host, Abi, was fantastic and provided clues as needed. We would definitely recommend a visit- there are plenty of rooms to choose from and it is great value, offering something a bit different.
